Plastered T-shirts awakens China to warmer times with our new Summer 2008 collection. Beijing’s grey and gritty winter, although inspiring and exhilarating in its own right, gives way to a brighter, bolder, and more beautiful season.

The Plastered Summer 2008 collection takes China’s beauty to an entirely new level – still as simple and iconic as ever, our new collection probes deeper into the majestic images that shape, and have shaped, China today. The t-shirts feature powerful train engines gliding through blue blazoned horizons; cranes jutting skywards juxtaposed by a bed of blooming roses below; red balloons tote classic revolutionary slogans that drift boldly across dark blues, blacks, and whites. The classic Plastered style remains but with even more of an edge that welcomes the more discerning customer – Chairman Mao takes a great leap forward from the revolutionary poster pages to cement walls as a graffiti stencil; countryside blankets and fabrics inspire beautiful, bright flower and bird designs.

In a first for China, we’re launching two special designs that are not only a creative milestone in t-shirt culture but also, probably some of the coolest concepts around. Capturing China would not be complete without a sampling of the neon brilliance that surrounds life. Hot Pot restaurants, KTV lounges, nightclubs – all are framed in vibrant reds, blues and yellows that light up China’s cities. We’ve splashed these on the t-shirts, adding ultra-violet ink, so we will be lighting up China’s streets and nightclubs, Plastered style. This Summer collection marks the launch of two of these creative projects.

The Summer also marks the launch of Plastered T-shirts in the UK in the devilishly cool Brick Lane area in London. We've teamed up with one of the UK's most cutting edge t-shirt brands, Terratag, to make this possible. They'll be getting Plastered in July 2008 and we'll be stocked full of their cool designs around that same time. Watch for more news on this exciting partnership, coming soon.
