1. 2 Year Anniversary Party

   May 9th was not your usual Friday evening on Nanluoguxiang hutong. Although the trendy alleyway is no stranger to young revelers, there was more of a buzz than usual as Plastered T-shirts rolled out the red carpet for their second year anniversary party. Welcoming guests from across Beijing – friends, customers, media – the t-shirt brand hosted an evening of comedy, live music, and free drinks asking guests to contribute at the door to the worthy charity, Magic Hospital.

   Just two weeks prior to the party, Plastered launched its summer collection 2008 - still as simple and iconic as ever, the new collection probes deeper into the majestic images that shape, and have shaped, China today. The t-shirts feature powerful train engines gliding through blue blazoned horizons; cranes jutting skywards juxtaposed by a bed of blooming roses below; red balloons tote classic revolutionary slogans that drift boldly across dark blues, blacks, and whites. The classic Plastered style remains but with even more of an edge that welcomes the more discerning customer – Chairman Mao takes a great leap forward from the revolutionary poster pages to cement walls as a graffiti stencil; countryside blankets and fabrics inspire beautiful, bright flower and bird designs.

   Shed Simove provided the comedy for the evening – producer of the massively successful Big Breakfast and the ever popular Big Brother programme in the U.K. He brought his bag of tricks and entertained the crowd while Random Ke played a brilliant set of live music. DJ Da Yong kept things spinning while guests spilled out into the surprisingly warm (for May) Beijing streets. Haobuhao's visuals were a stunning backdrop for the evening, showcasing design from the past and present.

   Plastered was proud to have raised RMB 4000 for Magic Hospital thanks to the generosity of guests.
