I kept it very brief and the crowd seemed pretty excited and then i threw my t shirt into the crowd which seemed like the right thing to do at the time and still feels pretty good now. Anyway here is a pic of me giving Li Peng a hug whilst my t shirt is being wrestled over in the front of the crowd. Was a great moment, for me at least.

20090418wuliao2Ten years ago was one of the most exciting times in my life in terms of music at least. The Scream club in Beijing was packed most nights and performing were a bunch of really great punk bands who collectively were known as Wu Liao Jun Dui (The Bored Army). Among the contingent were the likes of Brain Failure and Reflector both of whom regularly still tour.

April 18th 2009 in Mao Live House there will be a ten year anniversary party. We at Plastered have recreated the original wuliao contingent T shirt, one of which i still own and wear and will be wearing on the night. The new ones will be on sale at the show, all the money from the sale of the shirts will go straight to the bands.

It will be a great night for music and memories. These guys were the original Beijing punks.
