GAR is one of many great brilliant bands coming out of the Beijing rock scene at the moment, they played at our Plastered Rock Weekend last september and were amazing. Here is a video done by a student WAng Heran who I’m sure will be going on to great things after this master piece.

I’m still working on completing our stain glass collection. We recently printed our Mao Ze Dong design onto T-shirts which is proving to be very popular. I have had Deng Xiao Ping and Mao already made into real stain glass windows, Lei Feng and other icons are still in the factory. This week I had the Deng Xiao Ping stain glass window installed into the flag ship store. Here are a couple of pictures.

Last weekend at the exhibition centre in Beijing was tones of fun. Its the first time we’ve done a fashion show that wasn’t on Nan Luo Gu Xiang. Also the first time I have not organised every part of it myself, we had a company come in and do the whole thing for us so it was quite relaxing. I also gave a short speech to which all of a sudden there was hundreds of people all wondering what this lao wai was talking about on the Nan Luo Gu Xiang stage. After the talk was the catwalk. Here are some pics from the show.

About every week I change the design on the front of our giant 8 shaped lightbox in the window of our store on Nan Luo Gu Xiang. Here are some pics from the last few weeks. Its a hope of mine that you’ll see something different everytime you pass our store there.

Yes its that time of the year, its the 4th China Beijing International Cultural & Creative Expo, quite a mouthful but its always good fun, last year Nan Luo Gu Xiang had a 150sm booth and we showed off all that is great about Nan Luo Gu Xiang. This year we have 250sm space and we got 8 of the best brands from the Hu Tong there to represent. The expo goes from Nov 26th to Nov 29th. Plastered has a store there and we will in fact be holding 2 catwalk shows as well all sponsored by the local government here so I am super thankful to them for that. I shall also be giving a couple of creative talks too on the Nan Luo Gu Xiang stage, talking a bit about the recent History of the Hu Tong and its affect on Plastered and Plastered’s affect on Nan Luo Gu Xiang. So the catwalk shows will be on the 27th and 28th at 1pm, It all happens at the international exhibition centre in town on No. 6 Bei San Huan Dong Lu, Chao yang
This year we invited Naval along too, a great creative brand on Nan Luo Gu Xiang that actually created something different and has done very well because of that. Nice to see people doing something new on the street and not copying others. They will be holding a fashion show along with us.

I’m speaking at the Tedx event in Beijing on Friday the 13th (blimey). You can see more info here www.tedxbeijing.com
I’m not a big fan of public speaking as i usually shit my pants before i go on but these talks are only 20 minutes long so should be able to find enough content. Kaiser Kuo will be there my old mate! His new book is brilliant by the way. The CNN lady Kristie Lu Stout will be there too, she’s quite a lady. Anyway if you’re at a loose end pop over might be fun.
